How many points in a Krispy Kreme Donughts

It all started a few weekends ago with my youngest brother who mentioned that he wanted to go Krispy Kreme on his way home after mum's birthday.

So for his birthday this weekend I decided to treat him to a box of doughnuts and went to the drive through.

My sister in law was very good at resisting and everyone had some even me. I did however share with my little girl, the one with the chocolate sprinkles, I broke it in half and I did have the smaller half, even though I could have eaten the lot.

Half way home from my brothers my daughter realised we had forgotten the one she had chosen to take home. It was pink, of course, with strawberry glaze that shined like it had sparkles in it, and smelt gorgeous. I don't know if it would have lasted untill Monday night after tea.

So like most mums to stop the tear's I said if she was good after school on Monday and ate all her dinner at school we would go to Birstall Toy's R Us to spend the last of her Christmas money and get a doughnut at the same time.

My daughter was pleased as punch to tell me she had eaten all her lunch at school, which meant of course she could have a doughnut. Like an elephant my daughter never forgets.

We drove into the Krispy Kreme car park (which wasn't busy, best time to go 15:45) As soon as you drove past the doors you could smell the sweet doughnut smell that I associate with getting doughnuts as a child form the sea side hhhhmmmmmnnnnn.

We went inside and my daughter was fascinated with how they were made, watching through the window. I think we were stood there for about 10 minutes and all the time my stomach was saying, "one doughnut won't hurt". AAAAAAHHHHHH !!!! get me out of here.

Not so surprisingley I gave in and got myself a 'Strawberries & Kreme'.
But I am pleased to say that it is still sat in the box waiting for me to eat.
Waiting for my weigh in tonight then if I have a loss I will treat myself.

Krispy Kreme I am pleased to say have all the nutritional information on line
(not that there's much nutrition in a doughnut) so I was able to point the 1/2 I had on Sunday and Point the one that is waiting for me tonight.

So how many points is in a Krispy Kreme doughnut ????
Not as bad as you may think.
For the 1/2 on Sunday I put 8 thinking I might not have allocated enough. It worked out at 8 points for the whole doughnut.

The one I am saving for after weigh in is 9 points.

So ok as treat every now and then

Fingers crossed for tonight xx

Weigh in not as bad as it could have been.

So after my blog last night you will know I was very worried about my weigh in tonight.

The scales worked in my favour and I lost 1 1/2 pound.

So what am I thinking now?
I have lost weight without eating all the filling and healthy foods everyday, but I'm also asking myself, what would I have lost if I had eaten all healthy and filling foods.

The reason I have really got stuck into the WW plan is that I don't have to fit in with the plan, the plan fits in with me.
So if I am having a slightly sugar craving week and have that little devil who lives in the cupboard call me again, then I know as long as I point and include it I should be OK. I might not have the greatest weight loss in the world, but as long as I keep going in the right direction a loss is a loss.

So that's a total weight loss of 5 1/2 pounds in 2 weeks.

Here's to a new week xx

The little devil in my cupboard.

After have my first weigh in last week and loosing a cracking 4 lb I am so not looking forward to tomorrow.

Don't get me wrong I have pointed everything (and eaten all my points), but haven't made all the right choices this week.

My week started off really well and pretty much followed the food I had eaten the week before. Then on Saturday morning I wasn't hungry when I got up so I skipped breakfast, big mistake.

My daughter and I went into Crossgates Shopping Centre to do a little shopping. Then as always 'I'm starving mum' 1 hour after she had finished her breakfast. So we went and had breakfast at the coffee shop. 1 toasted bagel with a pack of proper butter. I did however skip on the cappuccino with 2 sugars and had a herbal tea of which I thoroughly enjoyed.

We went to buy some wafer thin ham from M&S and my daughter asked if she could have some meringues. That will be ok I thought at only 1pt each I can have them with strawberry and yoghurt.

Well the first one was with strawberry's and the box of 8 was open.

I was sat in the living room and could hear 'you've opened the box, come and eat another 1, you know you want to' 'eat me, eat me I taste good'.

So the box of 8 meringues didn't last the week, I ate them they lasted 2 1/2 days. If any of you have a weakness for the biscuit barrel ii was a little bit like dipping in for that cheeky biscuit with your cuppa, only mine was meringues. The good thing I have learnt is that a meringue is not as many points as a biscuit, but the biscuit tin doesn't shout at me as I buy the biscuits for Abi and don't eat them.

So what have I learnt??

Don't buy sweet things that you can't control.

I have done 1hr on the x box kinnect tonight in a bid to ensure I have a weight loss tomorrow, but only the scales will tell.

Wish me luck for tomorrow xx

Ups and Downs ?

Have had an odd week since my last post. All started well on Wednesday and I ate like a pig trying to use all my points.

Weight Watchers has changed and in my opinion for the better.
Fruit is now free and most vegetables so it's all the other stuff that goes with it that you have to point. You are allocated a daily allowance of points that are calculated on you weight, sex, age and height which you have to use each and every day. Non of this carrying over business like there used to be. Then all members have an additional weekly allowance of 49. This can be used on whatever and however you want. I am at the moments splitting it between my days so I have 33 points a day. But if I am going out, or having a meal I can use them towards this instead.

So what have I eaten this week ??

                 Baked Beans
                 Slice of Toast

As some of you know after lunch I was taken to hospital and had the pleasure (not) of an overnight stay. The good thing is it was nothing serious and I am under treatment. The not so good thing was the fact that I had lost my appetite and only ate because I had to.

Dinner  - A cheese sandwich with proper butter on white toast and slice of toast with porper butter later on.

Sat - 07/01
Breakfast - 2 slices of white toast with proper butter
Just before lunch I was discharged and my husband took me home then went shopping with our daughter !!!!!

Not as bad as you might think, he was very thoughtful, (as I felt like crap for the next few days) and bought me in some crumpets for breakfast, which he found out are quite low pointed, and some weight watcher meals so I could just stick something in the oven when I was hungry and still keep on track.

So how did I do ??

drum roll please .....................................................................................

I lost a fantastic 4lb.

I am so pleased, to say I didn't have an appetite and ate lots of white bread (my vice) that I still lost so much.

I am going to set my self little goals instead of a large goal that will seem impossible to meet. My first is losing 5 % of my starting bodyweight. This means I have 5lbs to loose and I am determined to meet this in the next 3 - 4 weeks.

I'm not sure what my finishing weight will be, but I have a particular summer dress I would like to me wearing this year.

Will keep you posted xx

Out with the old, In with the new.

My weight has been an issue since my mid twenties, when I settled down with, and who is now my husband. Working long hours and having a fairly stressful job meant the quick drink in the pub on the way home would turn out to be a few hours and pizza delivery for tea.

I first started to diet in 2002 in preparation for my big day which was booked for April 2003. I joined my local 'Weight Watchers' and was so determined to loose the stone I had put on, when I ordered my dress it was a size 10, a size smaller than I was.

I followed plan to the letter, I will admit I had the odd cheeky glass of wine but successfully reached my goal 3 weeks before my big day. I can remember feeling so proud that I was how I wanted to look on my wedding photo's.

Over the next 3 years I gradually put on about 1 1/2 stones then became pregnant. My beautiful daughter was born at 6lb 13 and I was 4 stone heavier than the day I got married.

The picture on my profile is the only one I could find where I am on my own. That was taken in 2005. There are very few since my daughter was born, those I am in I have my daughter strategically placed so you can't see my body shape. How bad is that ????

I have lost a stone since my daughter was born, and messed with the slimming club that eat red and green (but as I am a compulsive eater and have no portion control it didn't work for me) But now she's 4 1/2 I have no excuse. It's about time I got my backside in gear and did something about it.

So on the 1st of Jan the cupboards were emptied of all the left over Xmas food. The unopened boxes of sweet, chocolates, biscuits, a box of mince pies and full Christmas cake have now gone.

I joined a new Weight Watchers Group last night and am now motivated to make the change I so desperately want. On the new plan I have been given 26 points of which I really struggled to plan into today. But after a few added extras I will have eaten my points allowance for today by the time I have finished my tea. No snacking, as No points left.

wish me luck x
